The Conservatives have been promising a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty for a while now. But recently they have been backing away from this, to the extent of saying that they won't offer one if the Czechs pass the treaty.
Well, now we're at the stage where the Czech government is about to pass it.
And it looks now like Cameron is going to have to drop his guarantee of a referendum entirely.
They can't heckle the government on the one hand about transparency and "sleaze-free politics" and then start going back on all their promises on the other.
Don't vote Conservative.
