I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks this, but Top Gear has gone downhill?
I know it's always been scripted, but recently it's been getting stupid. They used to at least pretend that the show was unscripted, but now it seems like they've deliberately chosen the most ridiculous possible things to do and say just for percieved 'entertainment value'. They don't need to be that extravagant to keep people interested.
This episode in particular felt like they were merely filling time. The advert-making feature would have been better, or maybe even good, had it not been half an hour long.
I preferred it when it at least gave the impression that it was unscripted. Who really keeps a scissor lift in the studio just on the off chance?
The whole series is now reminiscent of Clarkson's direction in the advert feature - Over the top, implausible and poorly thought out.
Hopefully next season will be an improvement...
