I figured my first proper post should probably be in some way related to why I’m here.
So unemployment has risen to 2.38 million in the UK, with a record rise recently. According to the official statistics, it’s particularly bad amongst young people up to 24 years old.
I should know; there’s no jobs anywhere!
Half the problem from where I’m sitting comes from people who have been made unemployed from other jobs looking for new, lower-paid jobs that are usually the domain of students and young people such as myself.
These people are often fairly well qualified workers from respectable positions and have no difficulty “taking” jobs from us.
(Cue South Park-style redneck impression)
Also graduate opportunities have fallen significantly too, except in Scotland where they rose 14% according to New Scientist.
Is it worth moving to Scotland?
Probably not.
