The Pope and Harry Potter

So according to the July 15th edition of the Times the Vatican’s official newspaper has decided that Harry Potter isn’t that bad after all.

This is exactly the approach the Vatican should have taken to begin with!

By condemning Harry Potter for supporting witchcraft the Church made itself look ridiculous.

The Church are trying to present the Bible as fact, or at least a viable code for life. Mixing it with what is clearly fiction only serves to make themselves less credible.

The official reason they gave for this change of heart is that Rowling’s books clearly divide good and evil, helping to establish morals in children.
I suspect that the real reason is that they’ve realised how backwards it made them look.
